Sick!

That seems to be the theme for us this Winter.  On top of the normal colds you would expect this time of year, Anna has had strep, pink eye and a stomach bug (mild thank goodness).

Not to be outdone, James has had a cough for the last 6 weeks, has been put on an inhaler, and has a sinus infection so his nose has been running like a faucet.

Maybe my memory is failing me and these winter maladies aren't any different than last year...or maybe the addition of one more person's sniffles and coughs amplifies everything.  Whatever it is, I feel like we've become regulars at the pediatrician's office.  Jason joked today that I should camp out there, given the frequency of visits of late.   It really makes me grateful for the excellent health insurance we have.

Ironically, as I was typing this post, a friend called to let me know her son has lice...the excitement never ends!

Happy Birthday to Me!

This weekend I celebrated my 35th birthday.  I love birthdays, and this year I got to spend some sister time with Maddie, who flew in for the weekend.  She, Jason and I had a wonderful "grown up" dinner on Friday; we gallivanted around the town with the kiddos on Saturday and Sunday; and capped the weekend off watching the Oscars and consuming copious amounts of cheese and sweets with some gal pals.  All in all, a good weekend!

Walking

Look what James can do!  He's so close to being fully mobile - and he's SO proud of himself. It's adorable!

Happy Valentine's Day!

Valentine's Day was filled with lots of love around here. Hope everyone had a happy day!

A dance for daddy.

James received the first of what I am sure will be many Star Wars toys. Who says, "I love you" better than Darth Vader??
Who could resist this handsome guy??
The homemade Valentines I received :)
Fun at Anna's school party.

Dressed Up Imagination

Anna put this ensemble together and donned it for an entire weekend.  Cowgirl hat, fairy wings, butterfly backpack, scarf skirt, flower lei, and plastic belt.  She went on several "trips" while wearing it, packing bags with all her important items, while she played.  Ahh imagination!

James - 11 months

And the countdown to 1 begins. At 11 months James continues to be a happy little guy, Sure, he has his moments, but you can always count on him to give you an ear-to-ear grin.

He has mastered several "tricks" including: waving, giving high fives, pointing at stuff he wants and where he wants to go, clapping, and putting toys in a container. James also has started signing, and considering his appetite, its no surprise that he picked up three signs related to food (milk, more and all done).

He also is close to walking. He can stand up and sit down by himself and is adept at cruising around furniture. He will take 2-3 lunging steps, but still prefers to crawl. He is a very speedy crawler.

His personality is beginning to really develop and it appears he wants to be a funny guy. He will imitate you laughing and while seated in his high chair, will make silly faces and roll his head around to get attention and score some laughs. Time will tell - maybe we have a class clown on our hands?

Here are some videos of the boy in action.

Baby Bradys

This post is sad to write, but the pictures must be documented.  I challenge anyone to find cuter Pats fans than James and his pal Emma.  The two donned matching jerseys for several games this season but it seems even the cuteness quotient they contributed wasn't enough to seal a Super Bowl win.  But really, could they be any cuter?  There's always next year!

Touchdown!

Football season may be over, but James perfected the touchdown sign during the last few weeks of the season.  This is a "trick" Anna also learned at 10 months - two peas in a pod...in looking at the pics, James definitely wins in the hair department.
