Ice Ice Baby

I’ve identified the secret remedy for calming a wee one’s fussy spells. Or, diverting attention from a bumped head. And it also works as a way to buy yourself 5 minutes of quiet. What could this magic item be? Frozen water!

Yes, ice.

These days Anna is obsessed with the cool stuff and will wrestle you to the ground if you’re holding a glass of ice water. To appease her we give her a bowl of the crushed variety and she will sit and munch away for minutes on end. And, it’s a lifesaver in restaurants when the food is taking an interminable amount of time to arrive (which always seems to be the case, right??).

Anna also says ice and usually she repeats it, saying, “Ice. Ice.” We keep trying to get her to add “Baby” to the end but she won’t do it. I guess even she knows Vanilla Ice ain’t cool.

Anyways, I’m thinking about packaging ice and selling it to other parents. I bet I could make a fortune. I bet kids would really like it if I added sugar and flavor to it and froze it on a stick…it’s a wonder no one has thought of this before!

Sweeee!

All has been quiet on the Bergstrom front these days - nothing too interesting or "blog-worthy" to report. So, here is a cute picture of Anna during her new favorite activity - swinging. Or as she says, "Swee!" You can see how much her chompers have grown here...

Happy Heart Day

Happy (belated) Valentine's Day! We enjoyed a happy family weekend with our little Valentine.

As I got her out of bed on Saturday, I had a flashback to last Valentine's Day. As you can see, I dressed Anna in a silly little outfit (hey, it was on loan from a friend!), and from the look on her face you can tell she really enjoyed it... Looking back at that picture I can't believe she was ever that teeny tiny!

This year I only subjected her to pjs with hearts and we gave her a new book, Click, Clack, Moo: Cows That Type. Some might say, "A gift on Valentine's Day?" But, I remember very fondly receiving little Valentine's treats from my parents so we're continuing the tradition. And, let's be honest, it's really a gift for me, since we read the same books over and over and over and over and over again. Adding a new selection spices things up.

Tope also enjoyed the gift because it meant a box for her to sit in. Even if she doesn't quite fit...

Our weekend ended with a trip to the park. This picture shows a happy Anna. When we left 45 minutes later, after prying her hands off the steering wheel on the jungle gym, she was a very mad Anna.

Future Mathlete?

Looks like Anna is going to take after Jason in the math department. She seems to have a real head for numbers.

Ok, bad pun, but just had to say it...
